Appearance and self-esteem have long been intertwined. So, as our social media and selfie culture continues to grow, it’s no surprise that more and more people are seeking out cosmetic dentistry as a way to enhance their appearances. The dental world has taken notice and we need to respond with conservative ways to satisfy our patient’s desires for ideal smiles. This course will cover treatments from ultraconservative enamel enhancements and direct composite solutions to minimal prep/no prep veneers. Discover the secrets to identifying patient’s cosmetic desires, learn new easy but beautiful techniques and learn effective dialogue for case acceptance. Presenter(s):

Susan McMahon, DMD, AAACD, FAGD is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine. She is accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and an invited fellow of the prestigious American Society for Dental Aesthetics and a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. An author and lecturer, Dr. McMahon has devoted her professional career to the pursuit of advanced technologies in cosmetic and minimally invasive dentistry. She is a past clinical instructor in Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh. She has been honored as a Top Dentist over 20 times and voted as Top Pittsburgh Dentist every year for over two decades. Dr. McMahon is the founder of Smirkbox, a seasonal subscription box for smile enthusiasts that is filled with the newest dental, wellness, and beauty products.

LSUCDE video courses are live-streamed via BlueJeans. CE administrators perform roll call and random check-ins via the chat window in BlueJeans. If you miss one or more check-ins it could affect your credits. Before the course you will receive three links: a link to the meeting, a link to a short test, and a link to a course evaluation. You must submit the test and evaluation in order to receive credit. The Louisiana State Board of Dentistry counts CE hours earned through LSUCDE live video conference as in-person hours.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

The Louisiana Academy of Continuing Dental Education, Inc. (d/b/a: LSU Health New Orleans Continuing Dental Education) reserves the right to cancel any course should circumstances warrant such action. If a course is canceled, the Academy will refund the full tuition. If you cancel your registration, the Academy will refund the tuition you paid (minus an administrative cancellation fee).

We must receive your written cancellation request no later than:

March 31, 2023

Written cancellation requests can be submitted by mail, by fax at 504-941-8403, or email at CDE@lsuhsc.edu. If LSU Health New Orleans CDE receives notification of your cancellation after the specified deadline, this will result in forfeiture of your entire tuition.

Health & Wellness (Physical Attendance) Policy:

By registering for an in-person course, you affirm that you will comply with the safety requirements of the course facility/location (if only) with regards to wearing face masks, getting temperature taken, etc. You also affirm that you will NOT attend the course if you have a fever, respiratory/flu-like symptoms and/or if you believe that you have been exposed to COVID-19.
