Description:

Overview and Learning Objectives

The overall Perio Review program is for periodontists preparing to take the Oral Exam (Part II) for certification by the American Board of Periodontology. It consists of 2½ days of comprehensive review and 1 1/2 days of mock oral board exams. This four-day program is designed to maximize your literature review and update efforts and improve your oral test-taking skills and self-confidence.

After participating in the 2½ - Day Comprehensive Review & Update program followed by the 1½ - Day Mock Oral Board Exams, particpants should be better prepared to explain:

·      Current concepts, particularly as they relate to management of patients with advanced periodontal diseases and dental implant therapy

·      New developments and specific topics covered in this overall review and updated in periodontics

·      Systematic diseases’ influences on periodontal disease, patient management, and periodontal medicine

·      Management of office emergencies and the diagnosis of oral lesions

Alfredo R. Arribas, DDS, MS, is an assistant professor in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry in Houston, Texas. Dr. Arribas received his DDS from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia School of Dentistry in Lima, Peru and completed the following post-doctoral programs: AEGD certificate from Baltimore College of Dentistry, a two-year GPR certificate from LSU School of Dentistry, a MS in healthcare management from University of New Orleans School of Business, and a four-year oral surgery residency at LSU School of Dentistry.

Kitrina Cordell, DDS, MS is Chair of the Department of Diagnostic Sciences and Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at LSU School of Dentistry (LSUSD). Dr. Cordell earned her DDS and MS in oral and maxillofacial pathology from The Ohio State University. Dr. Cordell is member of the North American Society of Head and Neck Pathology, a tripartite member of the American Dental Association, a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.

If a course is canceled, the Academy will refund the full tuition. If you cancel your registration, the Academy will refund the tuition you paid (minus an administrative cancellation fee).
