LSU's Last Chance Course: Two Separate Half-Day Presentations
Next Upcoming Session:
Description:
A Key Principle to Creating a Thriving Practice
Understanding the Psychology of the Dental Patient
Overview
Patients present us with many challenging clinical conditions that test our technical skill set on a daily basis. We are equally challenged emotionally by “difficult” patients with unrealistic expectations. Without understanding why a patient is in their current dental state can lead to disastrous, long-term outcomes and can hinder our ability to provide tailored treatment. Motivating patients towards better health can only be accomplished when we truly understand how our patients view their own health and what they believe is at the core of their problems. Dr. Geissberger will introduce various patient types and provide tools that can be employed by the dental team to improve patient communication and clinical outcomes, while motivating patients to better overall health.
Learning Objectives
After participating in this activity, participants should be better able to:
• Learn how to interview a patient to truly understand how they view their health and the team providing care
• Identify various patient types and strategies to begin to coach patients towards better oral health
• Identify the angry, unmotivated patient before it’s too late
• Communication skills designed to help practitioners ask the difficult questions
Quarterbacking Difficult Restorative Cases in Tumultuous Financial Times
Overview
Has your practice seen a decline with our downturn in economic growth? Most practices have experienced between 10-25% decrease in revenue over the last two years. Now more than ever, excellent communication, dazzling case presentations and a complete understanding of patients is essential for survival. Through an exciting, fun and entertaining program, Dr. Geissberger will teach you the necessary skills in diagnosis, treatment plan development and delivery that will propel you and your team to new levels of productivity and ultimately improved patient care.
Learning Objectives
After participating in this activity, participants should be better able to:
• Customize their case presentations to maximize case acceptance
• Fully diagnose loss of vertical dimension, compensatory eruption, altered passive eruption, wear, gerd, bulimia and other non-caries related dental diseases
• Manage and restore these disease processes
• How to present treatment plans designed to maximize clinical productivity and outcomes.
